iMPROve Health is no stranger to these types of honors. In 2023, for the third year in a row, iMPROve Health was ranked 57th among healthcare suppliers in Modern Healthcare’s ‘Best Places to Work’ award program. In 2022, they were named one of Crain’s Detroit Business’s ‘Cool Places to Work’ for the fifth consecutive year.

“I’ve been a member of our Employee Activities Committee since I started here, just over five years,” said Elena Bair, MPH, CPHQ, senior quality consultant. “We try to keep a watchful eye on what people need more of in their lives – we offer things like professional development, holiday parties, online games and fun, in-person outings.”

Nonprofits from across the United States entered the two-part survey process to determine Best Nonprofits to Work For. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated organization’s workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. This part of the process was worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top nonprofits and the final ranking. Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process, analyzed the data and determined the ranking.

“iMPROve Health has been an important non-profit organization for four decades,” said Leland A. Babitch, MD, MBA, president & CEO. “The work we do is important to the maintenance of quality care across the continuum and across the country. While everyone in the industry knows the saying ‘no margin, no mission,’ our first and foremost goal is not to shareholders, but rather the people we serve and our staff — the people whose efforts make us successful.”
